Vaccinations
Inoculations against any disease is not required for visitors to Australia but for those travelling on to regions within Asia should consult their doctor about requirements for malaria etc. A current tetanus shot is recommended (even if you are at home!) as cuts and scratches can happen anywhere.
Victoria
Visitors to Melbourne should consider a side trip to discover parts of rural Victoria. There is great natural beauty along The Great Ocean Road, the Dandenongs and the high country. The wineries around Rutherglen are rewarding and there are some charming and historic towns like Beechworth, Bendigo and Ballarat.
